| Who |
BRIDGE is me (Jerome Yuzyk) and a few associates as necessary. The BRIDGE name was inspired by a prominent bridge in our city that I happened to cross regularly at the time in my life when I thought I needed a consulting outlet and formed the company. I was entertaining the consulting life because a lot of people came to me to find out how to get from somewhere to somewhere else, computer-wise, and so the idea was appealing. |
| What |
We do interesting computer work on a variety of platforms: DOS, Windows, OS/2, Netware, NT and Unix (Linux & BSD) and Macintosh. |
| Where |
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where the winters seem long and the summers short, and everyone talks about the weather or goes to theatre. |
| When |
BRIDGE has been a corporate entity since 1989, and I have been computing since the early 1980s. |
| Why |
What else could be as much fun as to make computers do magical things? |
| How |
We use technology to keep our costs minimal and our apparent scope large. Over the years I have used several hundred (literally) pieces of software to do everything from automating e-mail and fax to creating company-wide document standards. My operating system of choice is RedHat Linux because it offers stability and power at a low price, and with it I run web and application servers and my own workstations. See the Colophon for more details. |
